Each month our trained staff of oenophiles will pick several of their favorite wines and showcase them on these pages.  Here are this month's selections from Scott.

This week I picked just one wine. That's right, JUST ONE!

My pick of the week is the awesome Copeland Creek Pinot Noir. The reason is that it may be the most Burgundian-style California Pinot Noir we have in the shop today.

When I use the term 'Burgundian' I mean a style of wine that is terroir driven; an aroma and flavor profile that harkens back to French Burgundy. Some would say it is a style that is more varietally correct; earthy, forest floor/mushroom, cherry, and sometimes clove and exotic spice aromas and flavors; lower alcohol, minerality, complexity, velvety texture, balanced and age-worthy.

This powerful, yet elegant Pinot received a stunning 95-point rating from The Pinot Report and great review in the Santa Rosa Press Democrat wine section earlier this year. This is a "must have" category wine for ALL Pinot lovers.
